In 2006 Alan was a worldwide finalists in Wanderlust Top Guide Awards competition following recommendations from clients.
Alan has been leading treks and expeditions since 1990 and in the course of his travels has visited over 50 countries. A qualified International Mountain Leader and Mountain First Aid Trainer, Alan operates his freelance activities though his own company Bigfoot Services
Alan was employed in the oil industry for 15 years and, more recently, with the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority for 22 years before deciding to devote his full attention to the great outdoors.
This year, he has travelled through India, Nepal, Peru and China as well as climbing Mt Toubkal 4,165m) in Morocco and Kilimanjaro (5,895m) in Tanzania.
Alan is based in Brecon where he provides regular mountain and first aid training courses. Pre expedition courses cover a wide range of destinations.
