In 2006 Alan was a worldwide finalists in Wanderlust Top Guide Awards competition following recommendations from clients.
Alan has been leading treks and expeditions since 1990 and in the course of his travels has visited over 50 countries. A qualified International Mountain Leader and Mountain First Aid Trainer, Alan operates his freelance activities though his own company Bigfoot Services. By day however, Alan is employed by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority in Wales and is responsible for a wide range of access and conservation responsibilities in the National Park. In this role he is also responsible for training of staff and volunteers to Mountain Leader Award standards.
Alan’s most recent treks include Upper Mustang in 2008 and Stok Kangri (6,121m), Jade Mountain (3,952m) and Toubkhal (4,165m).
