Dom has had four rich and varied careers: 12 years in the Royal Marines; 10 years running his own business and 6 years as Director of Operations at the RSPCA running all of the charity’s operational activity across England and Wales and then as Chief Executive of Samaritans. He is now following his passion, leading treks and expeditions overseas.
Dom has a reputation for going the extra mile to take care of his groups. His knowledge of the mountains and over 22 years experience in the outdoors helps ensure that challenges are met and personal goals are achieved whilst having fun. Dom’s travels have taken him to Norway, where he spent 4 arctic winters with the Marines, to Nepal, Jordan, Morocco, Egypt, New Zealand, Tanzania, China, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia.
He has mountaineered and ice climbed in the Alps, climbing Mont Blanc unguided by the 3 mounts traverse. He has climbed 8 other major peaks in the Alps including Dent Blanche South Ridge, Mont Blanc de Cheilon E-W traverse and the Trifthorn. He has rock climbed in Spain, France and the UK.
Dom has summited Kilimanjaro 3 times so far and is due to lead 2 more teams to the summit this June. Feedback from clients included:
"Dom’s approach to the organisation of the trip/group and his relationships with the group members was absolutely spot on. A great leader who we all respected massively but could also have a laugh with - something I personally really value - I felt Dom really cared that each of us had the best experience possible." "Wouldn’t have made it without his help and advice" Kilimanjaro Feb 2011
