With a group of 25 trekkers to Everest base camp, your charity could raise £63,000!

What is a charity trek? It is a sponsored event whereby each supporter of your charity (commonly known as a “Challenger”) has to raise a certain amount of money to take on a specific challenge such as trekking to Everest base camp.

Why organise a Charity trek? They are a proven method of raising significant funds for charity.

Why The Mountain Company? We are specialists in organising high quality, environmentally and ethically sound trekking expeditions at great value.

The Charity trek program is a partnership between The Mountain Company and your charity - we go beyond just organising the trek, for example we can provide:

  • templates and photos to reduce your time working on the Charity trek project eg. marketing material and information packs on registration.
  • advice and recommendations on ways of promoting and marketing the Charity trek.
  • phone and email support for enquiries.
  • participate in an information evening for registered Challengers three months before departure. The format normally involves Roland giving an inspirational slideshow on climbing to the summit of Everest followed by a presentation on the Everest base camp trek and questions.

The Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHSF) was founded by Leukemia survivors Mike Peters, of the Welsh rock band The Alarm and entertainment insurance executive James Chippendale, as a way to give back by building a support network for cancer patients worldwide.

"Everest Rocks" was a fourteen day trek and acoustic concert at the base camp of Mt Everest in October 2007, with a grande finale concert in Kathmandu. A large amount of money was raised to help the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital build the infrastructure of its clinic by providing them with much needed equipment. The entire journey was captured by a documentary team headed by Alex Coletti (the acclaimed producer of MTV's ‘Unplugged' series).

"I cannot say thank you enough for everything. You guys went above and beyond and made the Everest Rocks event a worldwide success. Thank you!!!" Shannon Foley, executive director Love Hope Strength Foundation

Liberty Foundation aim to prevent the damaging effects of institutionalisation on children placed in care. We believe that within a nurturing and respectful environment a child is able to excel and flourish, despite having had a disadvantaged start to life. Liberty Foundation seek not to merely house and feed a child but to invest in them fully as individuals so that they are able to grow into valuable members of society.

The Pace Centre is a special needs school which provides an 'education for life' for children with cerebral palsy - teaching daily living skills which most of us are fortunate to be able to take for granted. This unique centre admits children from across Buckinghamshire from 6-months to 12-years old. In it's 15-year history PACE has helped hundreds of children and their families to a more positive and independent future.
