Earthquake relief

The Mountain Company Pakistan earthquake relief project supported by Cotswold Outdoor

A huge thank you to every-one who donated clothes and equipment to our Pakistan earthquake relief project. All the items were flown out to Pakistan in early January '06 to be used during the cold winter experienced by this region.

After carefully researching the various options of getting the items to the villages of Pakistan we decided to partner with Islamic Relief. This charity has been working in the affected area for many years and has the necessary logistics and connections on the ground for effective distribution.

The final tally was over 4,000 high quality items including 822 fleeces, 405 insulated jackets, 227 waterproof jackets and 81 tents. We also collected enough general clothing to fill a 7.5 ton truck!

We would like to thank everyone who donated generously and to the companies who helped us out: Kendalls Van Hire gave us unlimited use of a hire van for collecting items from the Cotswold stores, and Rab outdoor equipment donated a large amount of down jackets and trousers, and of course to Cotswold Outdoor too!
