Each departure is designed to coincide with one of the main Bhutanese festivals: at Paro in March, at Thimpu in September and at Bumthang in November. From Kathmandu we take a stunning flight across the Himalaya to Paro, if we are lucky and get clear skies there are views of Everest, Makalu and Kangchenjunga. On arrival at Paro airport you know you are somewhere unique with all the locals wearing the national dress. This itinerary is designed to get you 'under the surface' of Bhutanese culture. This journey introduces the unique aspects of Bhutanese culture, taking you from the more populated Paro and Thimpu Valleys to the less visited valleys in central Bhutan. There is no trekking but there are gentle walks to villages to provide some exercise.
