Welcome to Gulmarg, the 'Curry Powder' resort! Situated at 2700m in Kashmir in the very north of India, Gulmarg is one of the highest
lift accessed skiing areas in world with limitless powder skiing and set
against the unique backcloth of the Himalayas.
You'll get to experience the world's biggest and grandest mountain range
and the incredible cultural sights, sounds and tastes that flavour India so
beautifully. The skiing has it all, excellent tight gullies, tree runs and open
slopes, all with deep powder and no queues!
Gulmarg translates as "the meadow of flowers" and is located 52
km from Srinagar, the capital of the Indian state of Kashmir. It is fast
gaining a strong reputation as an excellent powder skiing destination with a
season that runs from mid-December to mid-May. The resort boasts of Asia's highest and longest cable car projects, the
Gulmarg Gondola. The two-stage ropeway ferries about 600 people per hour to and
from Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Afarwat Peak (4200m/13779ft). It can be accessed from Srinagar (the capital of Kashmir) in about 1
hour by car or bus.

OUTLINE ITINERARY
DAY 1
Depart UK on evening flight to Delhi International Airport. Flight time: approx
8 hrs
DAY 2
Arrive Delhi International Airport. Transfer to domestic airport and take
internal flight to Srinagar the capital of Kashmir. Flight time: 1 hr. You'll
be met at the airport and transferred by private jeep for the 45km journey to
Gulmarg. Book into the Hotel Highlands Park.
DAY 3-8
Six full days of off piste guided adventure skiing in the extensive backcountry
covering 4 different ski fields.With a gondola rising to almost 4000m, you will
enjoy uninterrupted descents of almost 2000 vertical meters of fresh powder
each day - just make sure you are fit enough!!
DAY 9
Ski for most of the day and then transfer directly back to Srinagar by road and
stay overnight in one of the famous house boats on Lake Dal.
DAY 10
Return to Srinagar airport for the 1 hour flight to Delhi and international
flight home
Optional extensions and excursions.
