The Bhutan extension, with three nights in Bhutan, is intended as an add-on to a holiday in Nepal or India.

The itinerary is designed to give you an insight into the heritage and way of life of the tiny Kingdom of Bhutan. It focuses on the Paro and Thimphu Valleys where you will visit ancient fortresses, Buddhist shrines and monasteries. It is a good idea to arrange a visit to coincide with the festivals in Paro or Thimphu.

OUTLINE ITINERARY

  • Day 1 Fly to Paro
  • Day 2 Explore Paro, visiting Dzong, temples and museum. Afternoon drive to Thimphu
  • Day 3 Explore Thimpu, visiting Tashichodzong (the 'Fortress of the Glorious Dharma'), Thanka Painting school, Traditional medicine institute and National Library. .
  • Day 4 Return flight to Kathmandu
