About Kilimanjaro

Climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro on the roof of Africa.

Climbing Kilimanjaro is a real challenge and most trekkers find the summit day a very tough experience with over 1,000m of ascent at extreme altitude. It is important to note that this is a non technical climb and would be a suitable objective for fit and experienced hill walkers. We recommend that you start a training program at least three months before departure incorporating long distance walks with aerobic exercise in the gym or swimming.

Our program to climb Kilimanjaro takes seven days with the summit day starting in the morning of Day 6. It is important that you take your time and walk slowly during the first five days in order to help the acclimatization process and to keep your energy for the summit day. Keeping well hydrated throughout the trip and eating enough food will also increase your chances of summit success.

At The Mountain Company we believe in providing comprehensive pre departure support and advice. On confirmation of your booking we will send you our Kilimanjaro information pack with guidance on selecting your personal gear and equipment, training ideas and other tips to increase your chances of summit success. We will be available for any questions you might have whether with face to face meeting or by phone and email.

Our friendly and highly professional trek crew in Tanzania aim to provide an excellent service to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable climb. We strongly believe in paying our local staff well and providing them with the right equipment for the job.
