Tibet

The Tibetan plateau stretches from the Himalayan chain in the south and west to mountains in China to the north and east. 

Tibet is a vast landscape predominantly made up of a desert at an average altitude of 4,000m. It is surrounded by towering mountains with densely forested gorges, brilliant skies and pristine rivers. Tibet is known as the ’Roof of the World’ and is a land of isolated villages, fascinating monasteries and colourful prayer flags that combine to create an atmosphere of mystery and remoteness.
