Bonny Masson

Bonny has a vast amount of experience in leading treks and expeditions throughout the Himalaya and Karakoram. In Nepal she has trekked the Classic Everest walk-in (several times); Everest Base Camp with Kala Pattar and Gokyo Ri (many times); Khumbu with Kongma La & Cho La Pass (many times); Langtang; Kathmandu ‘Rim’; Helambu and Ganesh Himal; Annapurna region; Inner Dolpo; Dhaulagiri Circuit and Kanchenjunga. Bonny has also led the following expeditions in Nepal: Island Peak (4 times); Mera (4 times once with Amphu Laptsa); Pokalde (several times); Ramdung and Paldor.

In India, Bonny has led Kangchenjunga and Goecha La in Sikkim and in Ladakh a number of trips including Stok Kangri. In Spiti she did a first ascent with John Eames & clients of what they called ‘Hidden Peak’ 6000m+.

In Pakistan, Bonny was involved in organising the first British commercial trek over Gondogoro La in 1991 then led again in 1998 and 2006 (3 times). She has also led K2 Base Camp and Concordia trek (several times); Snow Lake trek; Masherbrum Base Camp and the first complete traverse of the three Passes of Boroghil in Hindu Kush.

In Tibet, Bonny led a group to the summit of Lhakpa Ri at 7,045m in August 2005.

Bonny is also telemark and ski instructor with a number of qualifications BASI Telemark Teacher Level 3 (ISIA), BASI Alpine Instructor Level 2 and BASI Nordic Ski Teacher (Nordic Downhill). Bonny has been involved in The Telemark Ski Company right from the start when her love of skiing, mountaineering and rock-climbing led to a change of career.
